Wild Bill update

1st lookout

If you were at the PVTA fun’raiser back in July you’ll know that there is a movement for the PVTA to expand it’s boundaries out to the Duffy Lake Road. This road gives us such great access to the mountains, all we need is more trails. The first step in that movement has begun as the PVTA has taken on stewardship of the historical “Wild Bill trail”. “Wild Bill” was originally a horse trail that went from Lillooet Lake up to the Alpine area known as Heart or Valentine lake under Mnts., Cassiope and Saxifrage, then down to the Birkenhead River via Spetch Creek. The eventual goal is to  restore this alpine access, but for now the goal is to reclaim the classic mountain bike descent, which has come dangerously close to vanishing from overgrowth. The descent is now complete and the brushing out of the climb continues. FTW will up there all week so drop by and say hi. It’ll still be a bit bushy goin up, but you’ll be rewarded with one of the best descents in the valley.

Bushy climb
